The Biotechnology department of IMS Engineering College Ghaziabad conducted a webinar on 21st June 2021 on the topic ” 3D Cell culture – current applications and future prospects”. The webinar was conducted by our Alumni of batch 2006-10, Dr. Anil Chandra, Post Doctoral fellow at Centre for BioSystem Sciences and Engineering, IISc Bangalore. He shared his success story with the students and motivated them for higher studies in Biotechnology and emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary science and said that Biotechnology is not restricted to any one domain.In his lecture he emphasized on the importance of 3D cell culture which is the accurate way to grow, mature and differentiate cells in 3D in vitro environment. He focused on various techniques for 3D culture including scaffold based, micro carrier beads etc.The webinar was very beneficial for the students of B.tech and M.tech to build their career in research in the field of Biotechnology and interdisciplinary areas.
